Description
I remember I was having an awful day. It was raining, I stepped in a puddle that was deeper then I thought and water rushed into my shoe. I wasn't too happy about my soggy foot. My boss was on my case all day slamming me with a heavy work load and on top of it all wanted me to take photos of a girl in a bath tub for our magazine cover. The Vagina Monologues were coming to Calgary for the first time and my contact was a girl named Marsha Ellen Meidow. So I made the call and arrangements to head over to her friends place to do the shoot. When I arrived I was greeted by someone I did not expect at all. Marsha was like a rainbow on that rainy day. Her smile cut threw my sour mood; her eyes shined like the Sun pulling out of a total eclipse, her personality gave me those butterflies of comfort. I was instantly taken by her. I knew right away she was more than just a girl with a cause; she was a woman with a destiny on her mind.
We set up in the bathroom and started the bubbles. There were two others helping out making the bubbles go round and at the time I was recalling how a friend and I were hanging out the window of a big hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia making these massive bubbles flow down the main street from high up. I started to get worried that someone might come up to our room and tell us to stop but he just turned to me and said “What? You can’t get in trouble for this! People love bubbles! They make people happy!”
Marsha, every time I see bubbles I think of you and I smile. I will miss you. You were a true friend.
