This is so wonderful, Robin. You’ve always got a unique viewpoint on the world and I believe this is what makes you such an inspiring photographer. <3

Description

I grab this photo after being at the official Remembrance Day ceremonies at one of our war museums. Usually its a case of photographers and video guys all piled on top of each other into a tight space all trying to get the same images of people placing wreaths and Vets crying. At events like this getting a photo is like shooting fish in a barrel, every where you point your lens your going to get a good image. Lots of colour, lots of emotion, just lots of things going on. Anyways that day it seemed everything I found that might be a bit different, another photographer was resting on my shoulder. So I picked up and walked completely away from everything. I figured I had enough shots and worth taking a risk to explore other options. It seemed to pay off. I found this row of crosses the museum put up on a slope of a small hill. There were these kids running up and down and in between, care free. As I watched for a bit I couldn't put words together to explain how I was feeling. I wonder if they really knew what this day meant, yet again they are kids and in that moment it was the joy of running down hill that seemed to be the most important. If fighting a war meant this to be the end result then it is worth it, Thank you.
